Meet the Creator of the Spirit of Fun
Yahiro Press was founded on a simple belief: the most meaningful stories often come from real life. The press exists to celebrate the Spirit of Fun—a mindset rooted in curiosity, resilience, kindness, and the joy found in everyday adventures.

In a world that can feel increasingly loud and hurried, Yahiro Press is intentionally focused on what endures: family, determination, imagination, and the quiet moments that bring people together. Each story is crafted to invite children and parents alike to slow down, notice the world around them, and rediscover wonder in the ordinary.
The Origin Story
The inspiration for Yahiro Press began at home, with a story that became its flagship title: Dave, Lexi, and the Little White Truck. The book is inspired by a true family story—when my wife’s uncle imported a Daihatsu Hijet from Japan and used it daily around his property, even giving rides to my nieces and nephews in the back.
What stood out was not the truck itself, but what it represented: creativity, practicality, and a shared sense of adventure. That real-life experience became the foundation for a fictional story meant to capture how small, personal moments can spark imagination and connection.

That same approach—drawing from authentic experiences and transforming them into meaningful stories for children—is the guiding principle Yahiro Press intends to carry forward as it grows.
A New Kind of Old-Fashioned
Yahiro Press is also committed to preserving the “old-fashioned” bedtime ritual. There is something uniquely powerful about opening a physical book together—when screens are set aside and stories become shared experiences rather than background noise.

The books published under Yahiro Press are designed to spark conversation, curiosity, and comfort in those quiet moments before sleep. They are meant to be read slowly, talked about, and revisited—helping families build traditions rooted in positivity and imagination.
About the Founder
Jordan Yahiro is the founder of Yahiro Press, an independent children’s book publisher dedicated to celebrating real-world inspiration and the Spirit of Fun. Based in Lake Ridge, Virginia, he writes and illustrates stories shaped by family life and the belief that simple experiences often leave the most lasting impression.
When he is not at his drawing desk or developing the next Yahiro Press title, Jordan enjoys spending time with his family—the source of both the stories already told and those still to come.
